15. How a Piano Works by Kendall Ross Bean

KC-KRBfull

A good piano is the culmination of years of labor by many skilled craftsman.  It is the summit of the furniture maker’s art.  It is the perfect balance of many tons of string tension.  It is capable of producing the deafening thunder or the softest whisper.  Every time I play the piano, I am grateful to all of the people who have been involved in its history and making.

I would like to introduce you to some cartoon characters who represent some important parts of the piano so they can tell you what they do.  Click here to meet them.
