Piano Finders Website History

PianoFindersHomeWebPage

Piano Finders was one of the first in the piano industry to post education online as part of their business website.  Piano Finders articles have received over 40 million hits.   The first Piano Finders website was created in 1998, and it has been an active presence online since that time.

Today, our new website serves our partnerships with other industry business partners and our clients who come to us by referral, by giving an overview of what Piano Finders is involved in currently.

But, being a preserver of vintage pianos, we also want to pay tribute to the path we have traveled over the years, which has reflected in many ways the changes that our society has undergone since 1982.

Our Website History

Online Piano Listings go to Piano Mart

Listing Pianos for Sale Online:  Over the years, our website changed every 5-7 years.   At one time, we had an online section for people to buy and sell pianos.  When online auction sites took over that function in the early 2000’s, we decided to partner with a colleague, who was producing the website tools at Piano Mart. This has been a good partnership over the years and continues to provide the public a way to buy and sell their pianos with a small brokerage fee for the connection through the website.

Shopping Cart:  We had an online shopping cart, for many years, with educational information about how to order piano benches, covers and other items.  Over time, our suppliers began to create their own websites and offer directly to the public.  So, we now refer our customers directly to the manufactures online.  And we only order benches, covers and keys for our clients who are are buying one of our high quality limited edition pre-owned Steinway or Yamaha Grands.

Piano Brokerage:  We used to list our pianos for sale that were in our 8,500 square foot showroom, online.   We have brokered and appraised more than 3,00o pianos over the years.  Today, we are very selective about what we broker and sell.   Piano sales now are often done by word of mouth and through referral.  And since there are more buyers than sellers for the pianos we carry, we sell to people we know or those who come to us as a referral through our clients and friends.  At this point in time, we choose to continue the piano business out of pleasure in the people we enjoy working with and as a tribute to our history.  We value preserving the skills and knowledge that we have gained over the years.

Educational Articles Online:  Our website, until recently, carried hundreds of pages of content and educational information written by us.  We appreciate and thank all those readers and websites who linked to our articles, and showed an interest that has been sustained over the years.   You will find our articles as permanent part of magazines, and publications online and in bookstores around the world.  We will feature an article or two here on our website from time to time as a tribute to that part of our website history.
