A Childhood in Vienna Inspires Bösendorfer piano donation

Sometimes a piano’s family history value is so great, a piano donation satisfies the sentiment more fully than a piano sale. Piano Finders created the Piano Donation Project:

  • to help its piano clients explore the options for donations and special grants to commemorate the history of a loved one
  • to put a beloved piano in the hands of those who will play and appreciate it for years to come.
  • To find a home for a quality grand piano when there is no longer room for the owner to keep it.

We will soon be publishing the story of one of our clients here, who was inspired by his mother’s love of music and his childhood in Vienna, to donate his mother’s Böesendorfer piano; he has maintained it at a Climate controlled piano storage services unit for years. He paid for Kendall Bean to restore it. It found a lovely home with a retired pianist in Walnut Creek who now plays the piano regularly and has music salons in her home for her fellow musicians.
